This site is a tribute to David. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and brother. He taught us all so many life lessons and we will be forever grateful.
Our father was a down to earth, kind, humble person. He came from a working-class background but was determined to be as successful as possible and to provide for his family. Family was always the most the important thing to him.
He worked in aviation his whole life, starting right from the very bottom at BOAC & TWA (whom he went on to work for, for 32 years) to running continents for Northwest Airlines and helped start Jet Airways from scratch with no planes, pilots or crew. This was all accomplished without a degree and through sheer hard work. Something which we can only aspire to.
Dad loved family holidays. From living in Hong Kong, to visiting different parts of Asia, Alaska, Australia, Hawaii & South Africa to name a few. We were so lucky to have visited some wonderful places as a family. The south of France was always one of his favourite places for a family holiday.
Dad was a sports enthusiast; from cycling to Heathrow in the early days, to his love for Fulham FC, Rugby Union and Golf. Dad loved watching and playing golf. We are so lucky to have inherited the same passion and enthusiasm for sports which have also passed down to his grandchildren.
From the outpouring of messages from old friends and colleagues, Dad was very loved and well respected by friends and colleagues going all the way back to the 1950’s and remained friends with everyone until his passing.
He will be sadly missed but will be in our hearts and memories forever.
He is much loved and will always be remembered.
